18th February 2015 Present Event

'Kajaki. The True Story' is the latest film from Academy Award winner GARETH ELLIS-UNWIN (The King’s Speech) and I was honoured to host a Q&A session with some of the cast, a producer and most importantly one of the squaddies, Stu Pearson, who's life is featured in the film.

It tells the story of an incident involving a group of soldiers, mostly from The Parachute Regiment (3 Para), who were trapped in a minefield at the Kajaki Dam in Afghanistan in 2006.  It's  a brutally realistic film with excellent performances from an ensemble cast and an outstanding script.  Check out the rating on IMDB

It's a shockingly similar story to that of an amazing Scottish Sgt, Gary Jamieson, who featured on one of the tracks from my Scottish Soldier ep for Help For Heroes.

It was great meeting up with my old pal, the actor Scott Kyle but his 'Stage Award for Best Actor' were totally over shadowed by the chest full of awards on the man standing next to him in the photo.  Stu Pearson, the real life person Scott portrays in the film was a lovely and extremely humble bloke.  It was an honour to have chatted to him.

Coming up next in the diary I'll be hosting, planning and DJ'ing at a wedding in Glasgow.  We provide everything from chair covers and table centres to the sound system and DJ.  Weddings are always a big ask, it's the most important day of someone's life after all, and I thrive on that kind of pressure.
